Andy Miller is a pianist, composer, conductor and full-time piano teacher working in Merton and Sutton. As well as teaching privately, Andy teaches with the Sutton Music Service as a peripatetic teacher, visiting schools in the London Borough of Sutton.
Andy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southampton in 2013, where he studied piano performance under David Owen Norris, composition under Ben Oliver, and conducting under Robin Browning. Whilst in Southampton, Andy established the a cappella vocal ensemble “The Reprise” in 2012, performing his own arrangements of Broadway and West End hits. Andy was a founding member of the Southampton Contemporary Music Group, bringing original compositions from new composers to a wider audience. As well as this, Andy has held co-conducting and assistant music director positions with the Southampton Chamber Orchestra, the Southampton Concert Band, and the Jazzmanix Pop and Gospel choir. Andy has composed music for gaming apps such as “Chick Rescue” and has provided original music for a number of small budget film productions.
Since moving back to London, Andy worked as an arts administrator in the admissions team at the Royal College of Music, and then the Royal Academy of Music. Andy now focuses on piano teaching, but still continues to compose.
